Stage 1 Water
Conservation Alert
Due to the
current unprecedented demand for water, Brunswick County
Public Utilities has declared a Stage 1 Water Conservation
Alert for all Brunswick County Public Utilities Customers.
During a Stage 1 Water Conservation Alert, customers are
asked to voluntarily conserve water. The following are
a few suggestions to assist in the water conservation
efforts:

Reduce
Irrigation Frequency -
For
established lawns, daily irrigation is not required.
Irrigate only when there is no moisture in the root
zone;

Irrigate
during Off Peak Hours -
Peak demand
for water is between 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to
6:00 PM. If irrigation is necessary, irrigate during off
peak times;

Check for
Leaks and Repair Immediately -
Leaks such as
running toilets and dripping faucets should be repaired
immediately to reduce water consumption;

Do Not Wash
Down Driveways, Sidewalks, Patios, Etc.

Use Heavy
Water-Using Appliances During Off Peak Hours -
Appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines
should be run during off peak times to reduce peak
demand.
